Fairy tales and cartoons tested as pain relief for kids with tracheostomies

NCT ID NCT07210346

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 38 times

Summary

This study will test whether listening to fairy tales (including in their mother's voice) or watching cartoons can reduce pain and improve comfort in 17 children aged 1-7 who have a tracheostomy and are in a palliative care unit. The children will try each activity during tracheostomy care, and researchers will measure pain, comfort, and vital signs. The goal is to find simple, non-drug ways to make this procedure less distressing.
