New PET tracer could spot hidden thyroid cancer better than current scans
NCT ID NCT07436455
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study compares a new imaging agent, F-18 TFB, to the standard FDG PET/CT scan for finding thyroid cancer in 50 people who have had surgery and radioactive iodine therapy but still have high thyroglobulin levels. F-18 TFB targets thyroid cells specifically, potentially offering clearer detection. The goal is to see if it can spot cancer lesions more accurately than current methods.
