New combo pill cuts cholesterol better than standard statin alone

Summary

This study tested a single pill combining two cholesterol-lowering drugs (ezetimibe and rosuvastatin) against rosuvastatin alone in 305 Chinese adults whose high cholesterol was not well controlled by statins. After 8 weeks, the combo pill was more effective at lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol and helping patients reach their cholesterol goals. The treatment is meant for long-term use, not a cure.
