Summary
This study looked at whether aiming for a very low LDL (bad) cholesterol level (below 55 mg/dL) is better than a standard target (below 70 mg/dL) for people with heart or blood vessel disease. About 3,000 Asian adults took either a statin alone or a statin plus ezetimibe to reach their cholesterol goal. The goal was to see if the more aggressive target reduces the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other heart-related events.
