Simple eye closure may sharpen Pre-Surgery measurements

NCT ID NCT07297849

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at whether closing your eyes for 3 minutes can improve the quality of a key eye measurement (keratometry) used to plan cataract surgery. The researchers will test 29 adults with dry eye who had a warning on their initial measurement. Participants will have four measurements taken, two without and two after eye closure, to see if the simple act of closing the eyes helps get a clearer reading.
