Summary
This study looked at why some people lose cells on the inside of their cornea after getting a special lens implant for severe nearsightedness. Researchers measured inflammation markers in the eye fluid and tears of 126 patients who either had the implant removed or had routine cataract surgery. The goal was to find out if inflammation causes the cell loss, which could change how doctors manage these implants.
