First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether eye drops made from a patient's own blood or from donated umbilical cord blood can improve dry eye symptoms. 80 adults with dry eye disease were randomly assigned to receive one of these blood-based drops. Researchers measured tear film stability, tear production, and eye surface damage to see which treatment worked better.
