Mind over needle: expectations may boost neck pain treatment
NCT ID NCT04636879
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether what you expect from dry needling (a treatment where thin needles are inserted into muscle knots) can change how your body responds. Researchers will give 45 people with neck pain either positive, negative, or neutral information before the treatment. They will measure changes in the nervous system and pain relief to see if expectations make a difference.
