Mind over needle: expectations could boost neck pain relief

NCT ID NCT04636879

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether what you expect from dry needling (a treatment where thin needles are inserted into muscle knots) changes how your body responds. Researchers will give 45 people with neck pain either positive, negative, or neutral information before the treatment. They will measure changes in the nervous system and pain levels to see if expectations make a real difference.
