New imaging tool helps find hidden parathyroid tumors

Summary
This program gives patients at UCSF access to a special PET scan using 18F-fluorocholine to find parathyroid adenomas, which are small tumors that cause high calcium levels. It is for people aged 13 and older with primary hyperparathyroidism. The goal is to better locate these tumors so they can be treated.
