New pain block could cut opioid use after gallbladder surgery

NCT ID NCT07187310

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests two types of nerve blocks (EXORA and ESP) to see which one works better for pain after gallbladder removal. About 114 adults having laparoscopic gallbladder surgery will receive one of the blocks before surgery. The goal is to find which block reduces the need for strong painkillers (opioids) and helps patients recover faster with fewer side effects.
