First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a short session of bodyweight exercises combined with group motivation, breathing, and stretching could lower stress hormones and improve mood in healthy young adults aged 18-25. 84 participants were split into three groups: exercise plus motivation, motivation only, or no activity. Researchers measured blood cortisol levels and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress before and after the session. The goal was to find simple, low-cost ways to support mental well-being in young people.
