What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Multicomponent exercise program (resistance training, stretching, walking)
What this could lead to
If effective, this program could become a simple, low-cost way to help older patients stay mobile and feel better during hospital stays.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study without a phase, so results may not apply to all hospitals or patients. Exercise may be difficult for some frail seniors.
