First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether different exercise routines can improve physical health, thinking skills, brain structure, and blood markers in people with chronic neck pain. Twenty-one adults with neck pain for at least 3 months will do 36 exercise sessions over 12 weeks. The goal is to see which exercise approach works best.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- aerobic exercise (stationary cycling) and other exercise protocols
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could point toward specific exercise programs that reduce pain and improve thinking and brain structure in people with chronic neck pain.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small early study (21 people) with no placebo group, so results may not apply to everyone. Exercise may not help all participants.
