First seen Jan 11, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a 9-week personalized exercise program using a stationary bike could improve symptoms in 56 people with ankylosing spondylitis, a type of arthritis that affects the spine. Participants either followed the exercise program or continued their usual care. The main goal was to see if more people in the exercise group felt at least a 20% improvement in their symptoms.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, drug-free way to ease symptoms and improve daily function for people with ankylosing spondylitis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 56 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Exercise programs require commitment and may not help all patients.
