First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at how different types of aerobic exercise (moderate steady walking vs. short bursts of high intensity) and diet advice affect the tiny power plants inside cells (mitochondria) and stress levels in people with type 2 diabetes. 146 adults with diabetes or prediabetes took part in a 12-week program. The goal was to find the best combination of exercise and diet to improve cell health, and whether men and women respond differently.
