Summary

This study looked at how different types of aerobic exercise (moderate steady walking vs. short bursts of intense activity) and diet advice affect the energy centers (mitochondria) and stress levels inside cells of people with type 2 diabetes. 146 adults with diabetes or prediabetes took part in a 12-week program. The goal was to find the best combination of exercise and diet to improve cell health.
