Move more, not just exercise: study tests heart benefits for overweight women

NCT ID NCT06270810

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at whether increasing everyday physical activities (like walking or household chores) along with regular aerobic exercise improves heart health more than exercise alone in overweight young women. Twenty-eight women with a BMI between 25 and 30 who sit for over 7 hours a day took part. Researchers measured cholesterol, blood pressure, and other health markers to compare the two approaches.
