First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested whether doing moderate aerobic exercise right before a therapy session helps people with major depression get more out of their treatment. Forty adults either exercised or rested before each of 8 weekly cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) sessions. The goal was to see if exercise improves the connection with the therapist and encourages more active coping behaviors.
