Scientists scan ear tubes to unlock secrets of hearing health
NCT ID NCT07343713
First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study uses CT scans to see if the shape and angle of the eustachian tube (the small passage connecting the ear to the throat) are linked to pressure inside the middle ear. Researchers will measure these features in 50 healthy people aged 7 and older. The goal is to better understand how ear tube structure may affect ear health, which could help explain conditions like ear infections or hearing loss.
