New targeted drug enters human trials for advanced cancers

Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new experimental drug called ETX-636 in people with advanced solid tumors that have a specific genetic change (PIK3CA mutation). The trial will first check the safety and side effects of the drug given alone, and then test it combined with another cancer therapy in people with advanced breast cancer. The main goals are to find a safe dose and see if the treatment can help shrink or control tumors.
