First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at whether holding regular, structured meetings where all ICU staff discuss ethical issues—especially decisions about stopping or limiting life support—improves nurses' sense of involvement and job satisfaction. About 450 patients took part, and the researchers measured changes in nurses' perceptions of the ethical climate and their well-being. The goal was to see if these meetings make the workplace better for nurses without directly changing patient treatment.
