Summary

This study looks at 150 women aged 14-30 with functional hypothalamic amenorrhea (missed periods due to stress or low energy). It compares natural estrogen patches, natural estrogen pills, and a synthetic birth control patch to see which best improves bone density and strength over one year. Participants take assigned estrogen plus calcium and vitamin D, with four study visits.
