First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a single dose of estradiol (a hormone) can lower the number of intrusive, unwanted memories after a traumatic experience. Healthy female volunteers will watch a stressful film and then record any intrusive memories over the next four days. The goal is to understand how hormones affect memory formation, which could lead to new ways to prevent PTSD.
