First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether a custom mouth splint (Essix appliance) can reduce pain and improve saliva flow in people with Burning Mouth Syndrome, a condition causing long-lasting mouth pain. Researchers will measure pain levels, saliva volume, and proteins in saliva from 12 adults who have already found some relief using the splint. The goal is to see if the splint is a helpful treatment option.
