Doctors investigate if difficulty passing scope predicts advanced esophageal cancer
NCT ID NCT02372929
Summary
This study aimed to understand if difficulty passing an endoscope through a narrowed area (stricture) caused by esophageal cancer indicates more advanced disease. Researchers observed 100 adult patients undergoing standard ultrasound staging procedures to collect data. The goal was to see if tight strictures seen during routine endoscopy correlate with later-stage cancer found on ultrasound.
