Scientists hunt for inherited cancer clues in thousands of patients

NCT ID NCT00341276

Summary

This study aimed to understand how genetics influence a person's risk of developing esophageal and certain stomach cancers. Researchers collected and analyzed biological samples from over 7,700 participants, including people with cancer and healthy individuals from high- and low-risk areas. The goal was to find genetic markers that could one day help identify people at high risk so they could be offered prevention or early detection strategies.
