C-Section drug may ease debilitating itch in pregnancy disorder

Summary

This study tests whether a single injection of esketamine given during a C-section can lessen severe itching in pregnant women with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP). The trial will enroll 160 women aged 18-40 with confirmed ICP and significant itching. The main goal is to measure itching intensity 24 hours after surgery using a standard pain scale.
