First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether escitalopram, a common antidepressant, can reduce the number of severe asthma attacks in adults with moderate to severe asthma who have had at least three attacks in the past year. Participants will take either escitalopram or a placebo for a period, and researchers will count how many severe attacks occur. The goal is to see if this medication can help control asthma better and prevent hospital visits.
