Summary

This study aims to find out if consuming the sugar substitute erythritol increases markers of blood clotting and inflammation compared to aspartame. Twenty-four adults with a higher body mass index will drink beverages sweetened with either erythritol or aspartame for two weeks each. Researchers will measure changes in blood markers to understand if this common sweetener could pose cardiovascular risks.
