New injection could ease severe back pain and get you moving again
NCT ID NCT07434024
First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tests whether a single injection near the spine (erector spinae plane block) can quickly reduce severe low back pain and help people move better. About 300 adults with sudden, non-specific low back pain will receive either the injection or a placebo. The goal is to see if this approach can lower pain by half and allow patients to stand and walk within 20 seconds, reducing the need for stronger painkillers.
