Early attack on vitiligo: study tests if quick action can halt white patches
NCT ID NCT04843059
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested whether starting treatment early in vitiligo can stop the immune system from attacking skin cells and improve repigmentation. 51 adults with different stages of vitiligo received a combination of light therapy (narrowband UVB) and low-dose steroid pills for 6 months. Researchers measured immune cells in the skin to see if early treatment reduces the cells that cause white patches to return.
