Experimental wound patch studied for rare skin ulcers
NCT ID NCT05120726
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special wound covering (EpiFix, made from donated amniotic membrane) could help heal painful skin ulcers caused by pyoderma gangrenosum. Five adults with the condition received the covering followed by a skin graft about a week later. The study was stopped early, so it is unclear how well the treatment works.
