First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at 102 pregnant women having planned C-sections under spinal anesthesia. It compared two medicines, ephedrine and norepinephrine, used to treat low blood pressure in the mother. The goal was to see which one better prevents the baby from developing too much acid in their blood (fetal acidosis) after birth. Researchers measured the baby's umbilical cord blood pH and checked the mother's blood pressure and heart rate.
