Doctors test best dose to stabilize Babies' blood pressure in surgery

NCT ID NCT02384876

Summary

This study aimed to find the best dose of a drug called ephedrine to treat dangerously low blood pressure in babies under 6 months old during surgery. Researchers tested different doses in 120 infants to see which one most reliably raised blood pressure to a safe level within 10 minutes. The goal was to improve the standard treatment for this common and risky surgical complication in very young infants.
