New X-Ray tech could slash radiation for hip surgery patients
NCT ID NCT05615701
First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a new low-dose X-ray system (EOSedge) takes pictures good enough for planning hip replacement or revision surgery, compared to standard X-rays. Researchers enrolled 97 adults needing hip surgery imaging. The goal was to see if EOSedge could replace the need for two separate X-ray machines, saving time and reducing radiation exposure. The study was terminated early, so final results are limited.
