First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether a procedure to remove blood clots from the brain can help people who have had a severe stroke recover more independence. The trial will include 308 adults aged 18 to 80 with a large stroke in the back of the brain. Participants will either receive the clot-removal procedure plus standard care or standard care alone, and researchers will measure how many can walk without help after 90 days.
