New protein clue may improve endometriosis diagnosis

NCT ID NCT07164196

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a protein called ANGPTL4 could be a better marker for endometriosis than the current CA-125 test. Researchers measured ANGPTL4 levels in the blood and pelvic fluid of 80 women—some with endometriosis and some healthy. The goal was to see if higher ANGPTL4 levels are linked to the disease and its symptoms, which could lead to a more accurate, non-invasive diagnostic tool.
