Scientists test drug combo to slow cancer growth before surgery

NCT ID NCT04049227

Summary

This small, early study tested two drugs, abemaciclib and letrozole, in patients with endometrial cancer who were already scheduled for a hysterectomy. The goal was to see if taking these drugs for two weeks before surgery could slow cancer cell growth and cause measurable changes in the tumor. Researchers also looked at the safety of this short-term treatment and tried to identify which tumor characteristics might respond best.
