ROOT CANAL MAY SLASH HEART ATTACK RISK, NEW STUDY SUGGESTS

NCT ID NCT07343804

First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether root canal treatment can reduce certain blood markers linked to heart disease in people with stable coronary artery disease and a tooth infection. About 80 adults will be split into two groups: one gets root canal treatment right away, the other waits three months. Researchers will compare levels of inflammation markers (hs-CRP and IL-6) before and after treatment to see if fixing the tooth infection helps heart health.
