First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding healthy eating, physical activity, and clean air counseling to routine pregnancy checkups can prevent non-communicable diseases like diabetes and heart disease in Ethiopian women. About 1,268 pregnant women from four cities will receive either standard care or extra lifestyle support from trained health workers. The goal is to improve mother and baby health and lower long-term disease risk.
