Shock therapy for stronger muscles and arteries in menopause?

NCT ID NCT07385534

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to lower-body resistance training helps postmenopausal women more than exercise alone. About 39 women aged 50–70 who don't currently exercise will be split into three groups: EMS plus exercise, exercise only, or no exercise. The goal is to see if EMS can improve muscle strength and reduce artery stiffness, which are common concerns after menopause.
