Ambulance crews to offer addiction medication On-Scene in new trial

Summary

This study tests whether emergency medical services (EMS) can safely start buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder right in the ambulance or at the scene. About 495 adults who agree to the protocol will receive the medication and be followed to see if they stay in treatment. The goal is to make it easier for people to begin recovery immediately during a crisis.
