First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether emergency medical services (EMS) can safely start buprenorphine treatment for people with opioid use disorder right at the scene of an emergency. Researchers will first test how practical and acceptable this approach is, then track whether patients stay in treatment afterward. About 495 adults who are offered the EMS protocol will take part.
