Summary

This study tests whether a structured emotional intelligence (EI) training program can improve mental health and reduce anxiety and depression among secondary school teachers and students in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The program teaches skills like self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management over several sessions. Researchers will compare participants who receive the training with a control group to see if EI training leads to better well-being and less psychological distress.

Emotional intelligence training program (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, school-based way to improve mental health and reduce anxiety and depression in teachers and students.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 80 participants, so results may not apply to other schools or settings. The training is short-term, and lasting benefits are uncertain.
