First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study aims to understand how children's emotions—like mood swings and how they handle feelings—affect their risk of developing long-term pain after major surgery. About 281 children aged 8 to 18 having orthopedic surgery will be followed for one year. Researchers will track pain and emotional patterns to identify factors that increase or decrease the chance of chronic pain.
