Smartwatch or journal? new study tests two ways to ease anxiety and depression
NCT ID NCT07607834
First seen May 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested two ways to help adults with anxiety and depression become more aware of their emotions and learn to rethink them. One group used a smartwatch to track emotions in real time, while the other reflected on their day each evening. Over six weeks, both groups showed improvements in anxiety, depression, and emotional well-being. The study was small and early-stage, so more research is needed to confirm the results.
