Tracking the lab result rush: why abnormal tests flood emergency rooms
NCT ID NCT07405996
Summary
This study aims to understand how often family doctors send patients with abnormal blood or lab test results to hospital emergency departments. Researchers will track 5,000 adult patients referred for this reason to see what types of abnormalities are most common and how serious they are. The goal is to identify patterns that could help create better care pathways, reduce unnecessary ER visits, and improve how patients are directed to appropriate care.
