Rabbit model study aims to save tiny lives in breathing emergencies

NCT ID NCT07368179

First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests two different ways doctors can quickly create an emergency airway in infants when standard methods fail. Using a realistic rabbit model, 30 pediatric specialists will try both a surgical cut-down technique and a needle-guided method. The goal is to see which technique is faster and causes fewer injuries, helping improve emergency care for the smallest patients.
