Rabbit model reveals best way to save infant airways in crisis

NCT ID NCT07368179

First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests two different ways doctors can quickly create an emergency breathing tube in infants when standard methods fail. Using a realistic rabbit model with simulated bleeding, 30 pediatric specialists will try both a surgical cut-down technique and a needle-guided method. The goal is to see which technique is faster and causes less injury, helping improve emergency care for the smallest patients.
