New study aims to spot cerebral palsy months earlier in At-Risk infants

Summary
This study aims to diagnose cerebral palsy (CP) earlier in babies who are at high risk, such as those born prematurely or with brain injuries. Researchers will use brain scans, sleep tests, and blood markers to predict which infants will develop CP and other developmental issues. The goal is to reduce the typical 1-2 year wait for a diagnosis, allowing for earlier support and intervention. The study will follow 600 infants in Ireland from near birth up to 24 months of age.
